hazel's thailand
I wanted to get one or two things for Hazel here in Thailand that have a sort of East Asian or Thai flare to them. And then everything else, I can get in India. But on the advice of my friend Kelley, I also bought some onesies to take back with me. Thailand has this big Wal-Mart type store, and so as I was looking at onesies, I got sidetracked and ended up buying 3 little dresses as well. Two of the dresses are for size 1 year old, but I justified it because 1, Thai babies are smaller than American babies, and 2, they were cute.
Here is just one of the dresses. It says, "I [heart] Mom," in Thai. Now before you start thinking I'm a genius who can read Thai, I should mention they also had these in English. Now that you have all the facts, feel free to still think I'm a genius.
We saw these little baby kimonos at the night market and couldn't resist.
After buying Hazel's kimono, James and I realized how cute (dorky?) it would be to dress all the 4 cousins up in little kimonos when we get back next year. So these are for Boston, Olivia, and March Baby W. By then, they should all fit, except for maybe the younger baby's. Since we're on the subject, I should mention that Hazel will only be youngest grandbaby on my family's side for 3 months before Andy and Christi's newest one joins us! Pops and Mimi's grandbabies are about to double in number!
Just in case Boston still thinks these kimonos need a little butching up before he dares to wear his, the inside of all of them has this super manly dragon on them.
Hazel's nursery will be way more functional than fancy, but I do want to put a few pretty touches in there with her, so I bought this pillow cover for her nursery.

And this is us eating at Hazel's favorite restaurant here in Thailand. I tell you, she is lucky to have such cool parents. :)

That is the funniest blog ever. I am still laughing. She does have cool parents but even cool grandparents. Love the outfits. I didn't know Andy and Christi were expecting congrats.
Love ya,
Judy
Is that at Dukes?
I bought a couple of T-shirts for 6-8 months that are in Thai :) I also found a couple of shirts a while back in the south of our country that are in Sweedish - I couldn't resist - it's too funny! The Kimonos are so cute!! Cute pillow :)
I had so planned to buy kiran a kimono when we were back in thailand this summer...but since we didn't end up going, we didn't get it :( I guess we'll just have to make a bonus trip to Thailand some time. Your daughter is going to be so international.
I totally understand your justification for buying the dresses! Makes perfect sense to me. I'm glad that grandmother Judy made note that Hazel was going to have the coolest grandparents ever! Because between me and Pops and Judy and Rick, she is going to rock! The outfits are too cute. Has Christi seen them?
Love you.
So i was looking at the the fetus tracker thing on the top of your blog and today it says..."I weigh a whole pound, wow that's a whole pound more than Kate moss!" I thought it was funny!!!
I know I say it all the time- you're a cute pregnant lady!
Hazel is so well-traveled and cultured. Now she'll be well-dressed, too. Love the purple cover for the nursery- leave it to you to choose purple! Always a fondness for lavender!
Those kimonos are super cute, good luck convincing Andy to put Boston in one!!! I can't believe the number is about to double- oh wow. Christi is having morning sickness and super cranky (not much fun).
AWWWW tell Andy and Christi congratulations.
