shopping!

Like I said, I have one more month to go before the third trimester hits, and Andrea isn't far behind me. So we actually for once had a free day today so we went shopping! Who knows how long we'll still feel energized enough to shop like this again? :)

After one wrong stop, we found the little baby shop. Like many South Asian shops, there is a lot of merchandise crammed into a tiny room. So we would point, the man would put the items on the glass case, and we'd decide if we wanted it or not. This is Andrea demonstrating:
Happy shoppers:

And this is what I brought home. I'm getting closer to being ready!

So I wouldn't call myself a tree-hugger or anything like that, but I am environmentally conscious, and the idea of all those diapers bothers me. (Bobbie, why hasn't Huggies found out about our genius biodegradable diapers yet? ;) So James and I decided that we'd try out using cloth diapers at first. I know, this may only last a week (some of you may be thinking, "Honey, that's only gonna last a day!") but I must say I was really excited to see they have disposable diaper liners I can buy here! I bought enough to make a good try of it, and I can already tell that disposable diapers, not cloth, are much easier, and more user friendly. Did any of you try out cloth diapers first?

I'm so impressed by the cloth diapers! I bet once you get into a routine with them, it'll be easy to keep up with. You're just motivated enough to do it! I feel the same way about all the disposables- but not guilty enough to try cloth! All of your stuff looks like fun. Love the elephant bib!

I used a diaper service - they took a hamper of filthy diapers once a week and left new, clean ones. Think you could find something like there? I don't think it was long until I switched to Pampers (the original kind - no stretchy legs, plastic outside, not saft and flexible at all!)

Oh Honey,

I tried cloth with James and boy did it was short lived. Having to dip those stinky yucky diapers in the toliet to rinse them out YUCK. I quickly ran and got disposable and was a much happier camper. After that it was a no brainer. Good luck to you but the smell, sound, and appearance was tummy turning.

Love ya,
Judy

Good luck with the cloth diapers. I told Christi that she had disposable diapers at my house since you didn't want them. If cloth diapers is what you want to do, I hope it works out.

Love you.

I used cloth diapers for my first 2 children, and only used disposable ones when I went to town. They were considered a luxury, dlp/LC/LA
