I'm doing something a little different for Hazel's scrapbook. I'm going to try to do one scrapbook to give her later when she's grown. Probably when she's 18 or so. A mere 10 years before she's allowed to date. :) I say try, because it will be hard to keep the most important things in her life down to just one scrapbook. I finished the first layout - her birth. And now I'll have to hold off until her 1st birthday. Closer look:
(P.S. I loved Leslie's idea of adding journaling, so I typed up some memories during the pregnancy and then the birth story, then made an envelope for it and pasted it to the second page)
Awesome! I love it! What a great idea! It looks really great :) Aashini is proud to have made Hazel's scrapbook :) She probably won't make the first birthday page... but maybe the 2nd b-day page :) Very fun :) You did a great job with it :)
Looks great! I love scrapbooking! (although I left all my stuff in the US...so Isaac is getting a MacbookScrapbook for his) I applaud your effort for the one book thing. I'm a bit of an uncontrollable picture taker/scrapbooker myself (it's hard to watch others restrain themselves...haha!) so I can't help but suggest a First Year scrapbook AND the 18 year one. The first year is just so packed full of fun stuff. Again, just a suggestion in case you can't stop yourself from cutting and pasting and creating:)...the 18th birthday thing is a GREAT idea!
It looks fantastic! I'm so impressed. I think the idea of a first year one and an 18 year one is good because there is so much good rememberable stuff that first year.
And I'm glad you got a picture with Dr Kapur- I always wished we had. Maybe I'll just steal yours and photoshop newborn Kiran in.
So I was just thinking (and it looks like Kelley and Sharon beat me to it) but I was thinking you could make one or two pages for "Firsts" - a pic of first steps, first foods, first teeth, first crawling, first pulling up... wow! maybe you will need a first year book... but maybe you could fit that into a couple pages :)
Hahaha! I love everyone's advice. I, myself, can offer none (hanging head in shame). I have an entire professional photo book (like the one I made of the girls) filled with just Micah's first six months! So- I'm envious of your restraint and your scrapbooking talents! Bravo!
First page looks great! You're so creative...now get back to Texas so you can help me with mine. I still haven't finished our Italy pictures. Even worse, our wedding pictures!!
Clapping loudly for you!!! Kudos, my friend! you are doing such a great job of documenting. i sadly, have not scrapbooked in forever. i think i lost my love for it, but def. when i have a baby i will scrapbook again.
"May God bless her with a heart of love and courage. May he give her beauty on the outside and in. May she love the Lord with all of her heart and soul. May she seek God with all of her might. May she be a mighty witness for him and may she love and honor her parents all the days of her life."Prayer of blessings from James' Mom
Between the four of us, we've lived in 8 states and 3 different countries. We've been married 11 years and moved 11 times, making me simultaneously long for roots while missing my former homes. I don't feel exactly "right" anywhere. It's okay though - God has used this to remind me that since our citizenship is in heaven, we know we're not home yet!
