december

My super sweet friend, Alison from Alabama by way of Africa, sent me this really cool calender. It's a do-it-yourself calender for the first year of your baby's life! She knows how much I love to scrapbook, and realized correctly this was the perfect way for me to create a baby book for Hazel. It came with stickers for "First Hair Cut," "First Trip," etc, and also each month you update the stats as well as new things the baby can do. So here is December 2007 in the life of Hazel. Did y'all realize she already passed her first month of life? More importantly, she survived a month of inexperienced parenting. :)
This has her birthday, the day we came home from the hospital, her first bath, a special visitor (Mimi of course :), her first Christmas, and her one month mark.
I am also working on her scrapbook, but that will be a little different than a baby book, because if I can refrain myself from doing every little 'first' of hers, I'm going to make it a scrapbook of her childhood/adolescence as a gift for her.

You're smart to do the scrapbook as you go along! I did Randy's after he was married and gone and it took forever. Two volumes...stopped around his 15th birthday; haven't even started Lauren and Lisa's! One thing I loved doing in his book was to journal on each page. I'd reflect how I felt at that time of his life; add scriptures; prayers from my heart, etc. Just a thought! Can't wait to see you all this summer (hopefully on Houston soil!)

You are such a good scrapbooker and I'm sure Hazel will love having such a cool memento.

I had one of those calendars for K- I did great until 8 months. Then nothing. Nada. Zilch. I don't even know where it is anymore. I think I'm just going to go back and make up dates for stuff- in 15, 20 years I won't remember that she didn't feed herself with a spoon on exactly Tuesday July 17 right?
