alone time
When I was growing up, I loved to retreat to my room to play by myself. My parents quickly learned it was no punishment to send me to my room - instead, they had to take off my door.
Yesterday made me wonder if Hazel is gonna take after me in that way. I played and talked even more than usual with her, and by about five o'clock, she was pretty fussy with me. I set her down on the couch for a second while James and I happened to leave the room at the same time, and guess what? She stopped her fussing immediately! We peeked in a couple of times, and she was just chilling out by herself. I think she was annoyed with mommy's babbling. I guess she just needed some alone time!

...it's funny every two hours for the last month I've wanted some alone time!! HAHA! I'm with ya there hazel!!!
haha! I guess she's got a little "I" in her... needs some alone time to re-charge :) cute.
ok it just amazes me that at even such a young age, heir personality traits appear. Sounds like a little introvertedness coming out in Hazel. I knew from practically the second week of K's life that she was an extrovert. The worst thing you can do to her is take her away from the party.
Wow, I miss the days when you could put them on the couch and know they'd still be there when you got back! Micah has just recently started liking alone time. He'll talk to himself forever in his crib. I think it's GREAT that Hazel is content on her own! Maybe she's preparing to let you guys have a rest after all the colic she put you through!
Were you singing to her? That could've been the cause of all the fussiness. ;) Low blow, Ash! Ha ha! I love you, Em!
haha! That's so funny...guess we mom's need to learn when to just be quiet. :)
Oh Ashley, I feel your pain. Em singing! Yikes! Sorry daughter! I've gotten to where I need alone time and your Dad just doesn't get it. I read where men just need alone time with you and not necessarily alone time by themselves. They definitely are from Venus!
